eSIM lost setup...?
Hey,
I don’t think many of us have gone the personal eSIM route. In fact I’ve been one to complain that it doesn’t work all that well! But, I figure they’ll figure it out, and it’s cheap on my plan so I though why not.
My i5 got the update to 7/2024.40, and since then the eSIM has glitched out. The car says it meets 3/4 conditions, and that I need to complete setup. The app says the eSIM is active but now it says not set up in the car.
However, I can’t get the setup to proceed because the app thinks I need to add it to the car, and in the car, it shows the eSIM but that I need to complete setup. My assumption is that I need to delete it, somehow, from the vehicle, but it’s not clear how to do that.
Do I reset the car? I’ve rebooted iDrive a couple of times to no avail, thinking that might force it to resync.
If I reset, though, in the car, do I lose everything? Anyone had this kind of issue?
I’d call the hotline but of course it’s Saturday. Everything else works and of course I can do anything I would need to via CarPlay.
I may just leave it alone until next week when I can call them during the week, but maybe someone has an idea…
Thanks!
