Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time commenter. I've been following this, and the much bigger g05, threads on this whole recall shenanigans.

I'm due to take delivery of an i5 e40, and I am (perhaps a little too) excited. This whole recall debacle has definitely made the process a bit of a damp squib though.

So, here's where I'm at:
The car entered Status 150 on the 2nd August
Then entered Status 154 on the 16th August
Finally went to Status 155 on the 26th August. Since then, it hasn't moved out of QC, and neither my Sales Rep, nor the BMW Genius Team are able to give any indication as to what is happening.

I've seen a few comments that vehicles that were produced after 16th August (give or take a few days) have been fitted with the new IB System, and thus, will not be recalled. However, the term "produced" seems a little ambiguous, i.e., does this refer to when the car entered production (Status 150), when it went to final assembly (Status 154), or at the point at which final assembly is completed and it goes to QC (or Status 155)?

One thing that does make me feel a little less apprehensive is the fact that my VIN is not shown on the BMW UK recall website, though, I'm guessing it very well could once it's come out of QC. My Sales Rep has suggested there is no Sales Hold, though, again, I'm presuming this could very well be updated when it is delivered to the dealership.

Just wondering if anyone else awaiting delivery of an i5 have experienced a similar timeline and may have some input.

TIA,
Appreciate 3
