So I’m just learning about this from this forum…and I must say that after reading the letter they issued it’s pretty disappointing how BMW is handling it. Sucks for new buyers for sure, but as a current driver it will suck more if it affects you while driving.

First, why has BMW not sent the notice and info to existing drivers? I only found the letter by chance buried in the MyBMW app, under the Finacial Services link, when I choose “show Pay off”. I only started poking around because of what I’m reading here.

Second the letter says it is safe to drive, but be sure to tell anyone who drives your car about the issue in case it happens….so again if it is a risk enough that I need to alert other drivers in my household, why was it not important enough to send me the notice in the first place?
