Agreed. I've tried it both ways, and every time I bought a boring but useful daily, I hated it and sold it. Now that I'm a bit older with kids, my "fun drives" time is basically zero, and my Corvette (my "special" car) sits in the garage on a charger.
That said, my X5 M50i daily and the Trailblazer SS before it were awesome daily drivers that are also fun and also great family haulers.
