I’m not too worried, to be honest. I’m well aware of the responsiveness difference between an(y) EV and a mid-range diesel.
The cars I’ve been driving so far have typically had the staple 140 HP VAG motor. The 520d has 197 HP, and although slightly longer and heavier than the Skoda Superb, should be able to do quite well.
If I had wanted the «typical» BMW experience, I would’ve bought something smaller, like a 3-series. I don’t really care that much, as long a it gets me where I want, with a decent amount of power. The car salesman also vouched for it… 
In late September, when I get it, I will let you know what I think.
