It might be the same as when you get out of your car to go into a store, but leave your wife or kid in the car. When you turn it off and leave someone in the car, press the options on the screen to not activate the alarm, and to let the preconditioning run (A/C) so they don't get too hot or too cold. In your case, probably just need to leave the alarm off and not choose the preconditioning one.
