I put in a tentative 530i order with my BMW salesman... the stipulation is that the order will not be entered until they can confirm the ambient lighting has been restored to the production.(at which time, he can go ahead and deposit the $1000 check that I left with him) Of course... I'm going to keep monitoring this thread, in case anything changes.
In the mean time, I may try to convince myself that ambient lightning is a frivolous cosmetic item that I have no need for. I played with the ambient lightning on my new X1 for about 2 weeks and then turned it completely off for night driving.
