Got mine yesterday. Here are some pictures (I will try to add a front view later - car was parked and hard to photograph). I love the car already, and I think t compares favorably with my i4 eDrive 40 with 15,000 miles, which I also love (my wife will drive the i5 mostly).
Some notes on things that stood out:
1) I hate the lack of shifter - only thing in the car that bothered me driving 50 miles or so yesterday. Also awkward is that you get car into park by pushing the stop button. It was clear that the car valet when we parked struggled with the settings.
2) The regenerative braking seems slightly more pronounced on regular drive setting than the i4. I wonder if this is related to age/use on the i4, or if the i5 is just done differently? Either way, I slow down more with foot off accelerator on the i5 than the i4.
3) Tires that came with i5 were 19" summers - Michelin e-Primacy. I wanted 19" A/S and BMW did not offer the option. I have ordered a set of Michelin primacy touring A/S that will arrive this week. My wife got frequent blowouts from potholes in her 540xi and I thought more rubber would help so wanted 19" and not 20" or 21". Also should get better miles/charge with the 19" wheels.
4) Car was mighty fast, as is my i4. I was concerned the eDrive 40, while great on i4, might be underpowered for i5, which is partly why I went for M60.
5) iDrive 8.5 will take some getting used to, but seems similar to the 8.0 except for shifter and rearranged screen button design.
6) Ride was very smooth.
7) Tried speed boost once - need to play with it more - I do not believe my i4 has this.
8) CarPlay navigation seems to work fine (but small sample size). Lots of bad experiences on the i4 for most of first year but they seem to have fixed on i4 as well.
9) Wireless charger has more of a delineated area for the phone. This should lead to better placement over the sensor and hopefully make some of the i4 iPhone charging/overheating issues go away. Will need more time to be more certain. Also the layout seems to have places for charging two phones, but the right hand side did not seem to offer power.
10) Leather seats seem more comfortable than the i4's. The look similar so I was surprised.
I will add more as I think of notable features.
