I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do. It’s got 36K miles so if I keep it too long I’d need to get into an extended warranty.

I’m somewhat tempted by the looks of the Cadillac CT5-V, but I’m very reluctant to go there because not only have I had a great experience with BMW and forged a great relationship with my dealer and service department, but my last round of Cadillac ownership was an unmitigated disaster. Before my prior car, a 2018 540, I had a 2014 CTS, which was bought back because the engine shook. They put me in a 2016 CTS, which was an electronic nightmare. They flew an engineer in from Detroit to try to fix it and he rendered it non-functioning (everything would reboot every 10-15 seconds until the CUE screen would go black and not come back on until the car went to sleep). That one was replaced by a 2017 which, despite assurances the new system was better, started to do the same thing and they quickly agreed to terminate the lease and I went to BMW. Cadillac was great about it…but spending all my time trying to make the car (which was beautiful) work was not the hobby I was looking for. My BMWs have been pretty much entirely trouble-free.
