I'd state it more directly - the front-end of the iX and 4-series are hideous.
I don't know why BMW keeps using their flagship models as little Petri dishes to see what its customer base will tolerate. I was hooked on BMWs when they restyled the 3-series in the early 1990s, and we've owned at least two since. Now I have an X5 (G05) and my wife drives a Tesla Model 3. I've always bought BMWs because I was attracted to their styling. That's been more difficult to achieve with the current direction of their design language. Some have said "you'll get used to it". I don't buy a near-$100K vehicle because "I'll get used to it". I buy it because I'm drawn to it, and WANT to own it.
My next purchase is coming up in a year or two, and for the first time in almost 30 years I'm not certain that it will be a BMW.
