I too have been looking for a brand new set. If you want the best tv money can buy around that price range, look no further than the Pioneer Kuro 60 inch. No LCD can touch it.

You'll be completely satisfied with any of those two sets although I have to give my hat off to the Kuro for the amazing black levels that make any horror movie that much creepier.
I personally only go to places like BestBuy and Fry's for physical reference because their prices are insanely overpriced. The benefit of buying from a local brick&mortar is that if the tv breaks down you can take it to them directly. However if you buy online you can potentially save up to $2000+ off the sticker price and that money saved should cover any repairs that pop up. Good luck.
