If you want an incredible Swiss made watch without wasting a lot of money IMHO you can't beat Chase-Durer. Check out:

I have this one with the dark blue bezel that people compliment me on all the time and it is built like a tank. At $695 it is a steal. They make more expensive ones if you want.
