Thinking of buying an SUV
I'm thinking of getting an SUV as my second car. I want something big, comfortable and luxurious. Don't really care about gas mileage. I'm thinking of getting an 05 or so Escalade. Any others I should consider?
My budget is 25k.
Thanks.

Land Rover LR2. Great vehicle, capable, and luxurious.

what do you need it for? If you just want an SUV then I would get the jeep srt8. If you need it for towing and such the srt8 is out of the question because you simply cannot tow with it. I would look at the escalade, maybe a VW tuareg (or however its spelled) my buddy has one and it is a nice car. Maybe a new body tahoe. you have alot of selections at the 25k mark.

Bang for buck marvel is Hyundai's Veracruz(remote tailgate under 25k?). I'd check out Audi's new SUVs.

big, comfortable and luxurious .. Yes, the Caddy would probably fit the bill. The Navigator is an option too, although the styling is slightly more polarizing.
Make sure you put the Audi Q7 on the list as well.

guys his budget is 25k. not gonna find an audi for that. and a V8 X5 is going to be a bitch with mait.
i wouldnt drive a prev gen escalade, its one big piece of plastic.
if i were in your shoes i would do a lexus GX or LX. They're both "real" trucks with body on frame and i like that ride quality, plus they're lexus' so youd never have any issues and the lexus dealer experience is usually top notch. I would consider a CPO LR3 also, but be prepared to spend some $ on eventual repairs. it looks good though.
someone else said the touraeg, i agree its an awesome truck but they are finnicky and also not so cheap to maintain, esp out of warranty.

07 Tahoe or Denali
Good truck, plenty of room, "deccent," fit and finish.
Making use of the forged wheel profits?

+1 to Tahoe/Denali IMO. Run for freaking ever too.
I was in this market awhile back but got over the "need". Those two were my finalists for the money.
The luxuries between these and an Escalade did not play in my equation of road trips, people hauling, football games etc...

+1 on a Tahoe/Denali as well. The 07's and later are built on the same chassis as the Escalades, just different exterior styling and interior trim. I test drove a used 07 Tahoe before and was quite impressed with how smooth, powerful and comfortable it was. I think a used fully-loaded LTZ model will run in the high 20's / low 30's, so if you went with a more base model, I'm sure you can find one in your budget.
