Hoovie's 2001 BMW Dream Team Collection

Hoovie is putting together a "dream team" of 2001 BMWs which he reckons is BMW's best year ever. All in glorious titan silver.

Yes he's a bit over dramatic, posts click bait titles, is somewhat weird and often seems to go out of his way to find the worst possible cars, but that's his thing as he'd have nothing to talk about if he bought a decent car in the first place. And talk he does.

Either way it's going to be a lovely set of BMW's when finished. Can't argue with his choice of year and it's certainly entertaining if you love this era of BMWs.

That's great, thanks for sharing!

At first, I was a bit annoyed by his act, but I have grown to appreciate it.

2001 makes a very strong year for best BMW year ever. He does need a M clown shoe in the lineup, and I'd also add the original Frank Stephenson-penned X5

KevinC 10-17-2021 04:25 PM

Leaving out the shoe is a clown move.

Yes I think he plans to add an X5 as the last member of the dream team.

I love Hoovie's garage. He's great at bringing misfit cars to our attention, seems like an overall good guy too

Great cars

I find hoovie to be an acquired taste but I pretty much agree with his assessment. and while silver is appropriate for the era, I personally would have gone a different direction.

ninjas love of the z8 is hilarious.

Personally I find the guy quite contrived and for lack of better words a dork, however, Ed Bolian takes the cake on that front and don't get me started on Tavarish. That guys lack of human interaction skills is bewildering.

As soon as these guys pick up weak sponsors like "keeps" or "manscapped" or silly mobile phone games, the content goes down hill and after 500,000 subs the same can be said.

When the subscriber counts are that high and sponsorships are lame, it's a job and there are people behind the camera doing all the analytics and schemes to get clicks. It's not just a guy in his garage filming and editing and creating the concepts anymore. I can tell you with 99% certainty that a majority of those cars given to him for free or at very substantial discounts and the direction of their videos is chosen by the analytics not by the guy in front of the camera. All this in the name of sponsors.

It's a business and that's how YouTubers operate it and I get that but the fakeness and how people fall for it all makes me cringe.

But I'm insecure and jealous so there's that too.

Yeah that's how it is nowadays. Cartrek series were actually good but sometimes these youtubers just ramble on too much just to have longer youtube video and more watchtime.

if you want to watch something decent then head over to "M539 Restorations" on youtube.

Would love an M3. Although my pride and joy is a 2001 330ci with 37,000 miles on the clock. That will keep me going for a few years

Hoovie is always great for a chuckle. Good experience always comes from bad experience. Love it!

I'll check it out. Thanks.

I'm also tired of these guys asking questions for things they already know the answer to or already have solved them. Most of these videos are released months after they're recorded and it's insulting to expect us to play there game.

"Without you viewers I wouldn't be able to have 5 lambos, a multi car, car lift I got for free in my 10 car garage".

Humility at its best.

Sorry I'm bitter.

He tried to buy a car off of me. Low balled me quite a bit and tried to use the fact that it will be on youtube and that hes famous to get me to go for it. Not a huge fan of his.

WTF, because him making a video helps you how? What a slap in the face. If you're so famous than pay full price.

That's the problem, they just think we're a bunch of idiots, yeah there's a lot of them but not all of us are.

Pretty much. I had it on ebay and it didn't hit reserve. He found a pic on the radwood facebook group and reached out. I offered it at a reasonable price and he hit me at several thousand less. He wasn't overly rude or anything but rubbed me the wrong way. I think its about to go up for sale again, I wonder if he will try again. Haha.

KevinC 10-19-2021 02:07 PM

I watched the E46 M3 episode. He keeps trying to crap on S54 reliability, but his mechanic pushes back - again and again and again. It's kinda hilarious.

The guy's an acquired taste to be sure. But I watched the videos anyway because these cars are from my favorite generation of BMWs.
